Common Uses in Traditional Chinese Medicine:
- Stops bleeding and transforms Blood Stasis
- Reduces swelling, alleviates pain and removes extravasated Blood
- Invigorates the Blood
Note: Notoginseng can be in various forms, Cooked Notoginseng Shu San Qi is less able to stop bleeding and transform Stasis but is better at tonification and is used for weak patients with Qi and Blood Deficiency. Flos Pseudoginseng San Qi Hua (Flower) is sweet, cool, calms the Liver and lowers blood pressure. It is used for hypertension and sore throat.
